| The
21st century is bringing rapid development in new technologies as
well as the need to stay informed of updates and changes
to older, more established products and services.
This
has created a need to continually train today's workforce on new
developments in your product, process or service – whether
your firm is engaged in commercial, military or government business.
This need to distribute information quickly and efficiently puts
a growing strain on budgets, travel and staff resources –
especially when trying to bring effective training sessions to your
staff or customers in different parts of the country or across the
world.
At GGS Information Services, we utilize state-of-the-art
tools to create Computer Based Training (CBT) programs which meet
almost any need – from technical service to sales and customer
support. We can also support your Web-Based Training (WBT) requirements
as well!
Computer Based Training is a method of training
where the student follows a progressive interactive, self-paced,
visual environment without the need for an instructor. This allows
the student to learn at his or her own pace over a longer period
of time than what would be available in an instructed class setting.
In addition, CBT provides greater access to your training and staff
development materials than traditional classroom-based training.
What makes CBT
Training Materials from GGS different?
At
GGS, our combined knowledge covers a wide range of technical business-to-business
fields, ranging from Aerospace and Transportation Equipment, to
Commercial HVAC and Computer Programming. This knowledge of an array
of subject matter allows us to develop training materials that will
maximize learning and minimize confusion. Another advantage is our
ability to validate data that we put into our training -- thereby
ensuring accuracy. Our knowledge base includes instructional system
design, graphic design, photography, and multimedia (3D animation
and video), which ensures that your training materials will be as
aesthetically pleasing as possible.
Our CBT-based training programs actually ‘mirror"
much of the technical information which we produce each day in the
form of printed specification, service and repair and operations
manuals, CDs and Internet-based Web applications for all of our
major clients.
Some examples of
our CBT modules are:
- Visual, step-by-step, interactive operating
instructions for a piece of equipment – complete with animated
colored graphics to depict individual circuits, flows, or components
- Instructions for hydraulic or electronic circuit
operations that include "virtual" components that can
be operated and depicted with full functionality, easily played
on either a PC or Mac-based computer
- Parts locators and identifiers – easily
identified and highlighted with accompanying text or side-notes
- Simple or complex detailed assemblies, and
also assembly and disassembly instructions that allow the user
to build and disassemble a component within a "virtual"
environment
- The ability to include diagnostic tests, in
performing service or "extreme field" repair scenarios,
such as component "break-away" service or test and measurement
proficiency
- The opportunity to include a student’s
self-test for training evaluation or performance review, with
the ability to save and store test results as proof of certification
or proficiency. We can develop comprehensive lessons which work
best with OR without an instructor’s guidance – depending
on your preference or unique need.
(The
examples noted above are core module types and can have added or
subtracted functionality based on your budget and the extent that
you wish to include CBT or WBT as part of your overall ISD Process).
