Global Provider Teams with Woman-Owned Multi-Lingual Technical Information
Business
YORK, PA – The technical publication division of GGS Information Services of York, PA
has announced a recent new partnership agreement with AI Publications LLC of New Bern, NC in an ongoing effort for GGS to further broaden its contact with major manufacturers, specifically capital goods manufacturers located in the growing Carolinas region of the U.S. The move also brings professional-grade linguistic services under the more broad umbrella of technical service offerings available through GGS.
AI Publications, begun in early 2003, focuses on multilingual translation and desktop publishing as well as multi-language instruction in such languages as Russian, Spanish, and German, and is headed by Theresa Phillips, President.
A U.S. military veteran, Phillips is a graduate of the U.S. Army’s Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC) located at The Presidio of Monterey CA. Her work assignments included the Defense Intelligence Agency Center (DIAC) located at Bolling AFB Washington, DC, and the U.S. Army’s Foreign Science and Technology Center (FSTC) in Charlottesville, VA.
Phillips is also a member of the Downeast Council on Hispanic/Latino Affairs, the American Council on Teaching of Foreign Languages, the American Translators Association, and the Society for Technical Communications.
“We at AI Publications LLC are most happy to be partnering with GGS, one of the world’s foremost technical service providers. Working with many major global firms, they provide many professional resources which will be of benefit to companies within the Carolina region, while at the same time our specialty in foreign language skills further complements their offerings to their GGS customers,” noted Phillips.
“What we have created is now a ‘one stop shop’ for companies working within the global business community,” noted Carl Fraser, Executive Vice President of the Technical Publication Services division at GGS. “From the creation of complex parts databases specific to individual whole-goods, to creating electronic schematics and wiring diagrams in SGML language, to now the linguistic skills available through AI Publications, we can offer a complete range of services at very affordable cost,” he added.
The GGS-AI partnership will also integrate many aspects of GGS’ quality program into its deliverables to customers. The company was officially awarded recertification on February 20 by the British Standards Institution (now BSI Management Systems America, Inc.), for meeting compliance to the strict requirements of ISO 9001:2000 guidelines for quality work performance, providing for official quality certification for its facilities for a three-year period.
